Upsilon Pi Epsilon (UPE)

Welcome to the new look for UPE! We've renovated this space to bring you more improved web services and keep you informed on UPE's activities. This fall, the undergraduate lecture series expands to visionaries in computer science, along with expanded tutoring and advising services, and more workshop help-sessions with the CSUA.

This website has been in the making for a long time now. We'll keep you up to date, post the latest happenings, and launch an alumni program as well. On a technical note, we have just replaced the aging Pentium 1 computer (running on 64 MB of RAM and only a gigabyte of hard drive space!) with a speedy Pentium 4 with two 80 GB drives, a gig of RAM, and running a distribution of Ubuntu Linux. Wei Tu and Ryan Waliany of the recently revived Cal Linux Users Group has worked wonders in setting the system up. The back-end of this website runs with the PHP scripting language, the Apache server, and the MySQL database daemon. Steven Chan is the primary author of the website, running with customized themes and modules from the Drupal content management system.

We're still planning on activities for this fall, so check back often. We'll launch an RSS feed shortly.
