Officers' Job Descriptions

Minimum Requirements
All officers
- fulfill duties listed in the job description,
- hold tutoring and advising hours, and
- must complete any projects in a reasonable timeframe.
Officers may optionally oversee their own projects, which may include student events or website services. In extreme cases, failure to follow through with these minimum requirements may result in de-commissioning of your position.

| Vice Presidents | aid the president, sets up general meetings, organize candidate activities and requirements, and assist other officers. |
| Treasurer | ensures that all events have proper funding, reimburses officers for expenses, handles all receipts and checks, and manages bank account. |
| Secretary | takes minutes for officers and general meetings, writes online press and news releases, and provides an end-of-year report for the club's overall activities. Works closely with the historian. King. |
| Historian | take photographs, posts photographs onto website, and provides an end-of-year report for the club's overall activities. Works closely with the secretary. |
| System Administrator | ensures the uptime, security, and maintenance of UPE's server, maintains user accounts and quotas, installs/updates all mailing lists, and serves as back-end technical wizard. |
| Faculty Liaison | arranges faculty luncheons and any events with professors. |
| Industrial Liaison | keeps records of contacts with industry, negotiates with EECS IPRO, organizes all industry-sponsored info sessions, sells resume books, and requests funding from company. |
| Departmental Relations | talks with the department chair and Barbara about their desires. |
| Student Relations | sets up student-centered events, maintains good relations with other clubs, and counsels depressed CS students. |
| Alumni Relations | maintains database of all former members, communications with alumni through e-mail and phone, coordinates any alumni appreciation events and writes articles on our alumni (e.g. "Where are they now?"). |
| Activities Coordinator | sets up internal UPE events, socials, and candidate activities. |
| Publicity and Marketing | designs, publishes and posts flyers; web marketing through student/alumni mailing lists and website; organizes in-class announcements and tabling events; compiles student evaluations of activities and workshops. |
Other positions we may not have considered that can be folded into other positions:
- Community Service (e.g. Berkeley Neighborhood Computers, high school programming contests)
