Industry Infosessions
Upsilon Pi Epsilon can provide a wide array of services to help co-host your information session. You set a date and time. We assist in hosting your session: we reserve rooms, provide technical equipment, and attract students through advertising. Interested? Contact us.
What is an info-session?
An info-session typically spans an hour. Company representatives speak about the company, its history, and products. They often proceed to describe a particular part of the company, or, in the case of recruiting info-sessions, they describe job opportunities available to Berkeley students. Berkeley students ask questions throughout the program.
When should I hold an info-session?
Info-sessions are best held in the months of February through April (for the spring semester), and September through November (for the fall semester). It is best to hold an info-session while students are on campus and not in class: primarily, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after 5:00 pm.
What equipment can be provided?
Campus facilities and auditoriums in Soda, Cory, and Etcheverry Halls provide modern AV equipment, DVD players, and laptop VGA connectors that will allow you to project your message to the student audience.
What kind of advertising does UPE perform?
UPE can promote awareness of your company and its info-session by posting highly-visible flyers in high-circulation public areas (such as student commons, main lobbies, and bulletin boards near elevators). We also advertise through student mailing lists on the Internet, and web advertising on our website. In particular, we target technical and engineering majors.
The promise of food and/or prize giveaways will guarantee you a student audience, just as lard attracts flies. Food items can range from inexpensive pizzas to more elaborate catering. Prize giveaways and raffles can include corporate promotional gadgets to the more attractive iPod.
